Default [Tutorial] Hack vWii without a game using Wuphax

It's now possible to hack vWii (Virtual Wii) on the WiiU without a game exploit, thanks to FIX94. You can find his original thread HERE
If your Wii U is on 5.5.2 and you don't have Haxchi, you won't be able to use this guide. Instead you'll need a game like lego batman, lego indiana jones, etc. This guide is for users with Homebrew access on Wii U.

    Needed Files:

    Download

Be sure to unplug any USB devices before you get started

    1) Extract the files from the zip and add them to your SD card
    2) Put the SD into the WiiU, and launch the browser
    3) Type this URL: loadiine.ovh then choose "Start"
    4) Homebrew Launcher will load up, choose Wuphax from the list
    5) Press (A) to backup your current Mii Channel, then inject. You'll be brought to the home menu after
    6) Launch vWii (Wii mode)
    7) Launch Mii Channel and Hackmii Installer will run
    8) Install Homebrew Channel and exit Hackmii Installer
    9) Exit vWii and go back to Wiiu mode. boot back into Homebrew Launcher using step 5
    10) Run Wuphax again, press (B) to restore your original Mii Channel

You now have Homebrew Channel installed in vWii which opens you up to homebrew in Wii mode.
By default, you should be able to run Gamecube backups via Nintendont, and emulators.
If you want to further setup vWii to be able to run Wii backups, follow the rest of the guide.

    cIOS Installation

    1. Boot into the Homebrew Channel on vWii
      • Holding (B) at bootup is a shortcut into vWii

    3. Set the options on the top of the screen to match the following:
      • Select cIOS : d2x-v10-beta52-alt-vWii

      • Select cIOS slot : 249

    4. Press (A) to install
    5. Wait for the install to complete, then press (A) to continue
    6. Set the options on the top of the screen to match the following:

      • Select cIOS slot : 250

    Patching IOS80

    1. From the Homebrew Channel on vWii, launch Patched IOS80 Installer for vWii
    2. Read the warning, then wait 30 seconds for it to allow you to continue
    3. Press (A) to install
    4. When it has completed, press any button to return to the Homebrew Channel
    5. Exit to the vWii Menu

Your vWii us fully setup now. Use Wiiflow to launch your Wii and Gamecube backups. You can also install the Wiiflow forwarder channel included in the wad folder by using YAWMM to install it. By default Wiiflow is set to read games from the SD. You can change this to USB in the settings if you wish.

Installing Homebrew Channel forwarder(Forces 16:9 aspect ratio)

By default when you first install homebrew channel, it installs v1.1.2 which doesn't have 16:9 support. When you launch homebrew channel, vWii thinks it's a virtual console game so it automatically sets it to 4:3. It's recommended to install the homebrew channel forwarder which supports 16:9

    1) Download Homebrew Channel forwarder HERE (Choose the color you want)
    2) Extract the Homebrew Channel wad file anywhere on your SD
    3) Launch Homebrew Launcher in vWii and run YAWMM
    4) Keep pressing A until you get to the file selection screen. Browse for the wad file and press A to install it
    5) Press home to close YAWMM, press home again and exit to system menu
    6) Move the original homebrew channel to the right side of the menu and forget about it. Use your forwarder from now on to launch Homebrew

Hi, Im having issues with CIOS Installation, I followed all steps with success up until CIOS install. I load d2x CIOS Installer and it gives me the option of d2x-v10-beta52-vWii or d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii, there is no option for d2x-v10-beta52-alt-vWii. If i choose to try to install either of the options I listed I get an error saying TMD Version wrong 5661 !=5918. as it tries to get cetk file. I have all Nintendo servers blocked on my router, could that be an issue?
